Men assigned male at birth who are perceived as masculine, or “manly”, and who have a penetrative role when having sex with another man.

Dohori

“Both ways”. Men assigned male at birth who have no preferred role during sexual activity with another man.

TGW

Meti

“A person who quenches a thirst”, i.e., has a receiving role in sexual activity. Transgender, feminine appearing and often cross-dressing person that was assigned male sex at birth.

Meta

“A man who quenches a thirst”.

Kothi

Southeast Asian counterpart for meti.

Mougiya, mouga

Local counterpart for meti in the Terai- region.

Nachaniya

Feminine appearing biological male who is a dancer.
