Illustration of the Ultimatum Game. In the task, each trial began with the instruction to press the spacebar. As soon as participants did, they were instructed to maintain their gaze on a central fixation cross for 500 ms. Next, the participants saw a message indicating an offer, and the participants can consider accepting or rejecting the offer. This time point was considered as our t = 0 for the ERP analyses and is marked with a horizontal black line.
